HPCSA

The Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) is a statutory body, established in terms of the Health Professions Acts, and is committed to protecting the public and guiding the professions. All registered dietitians practicing in South Africa are required to be registered with the HPCSA.

Visit the Dietetics and Nutrition Board page for important information related to the profession of dietetics and nutrition, including the Scope of Practice and Scope of Profession.

Health practitioners registered with the HPCSA have rights and privileges to practice health professions. Correspondingly, health practitioners have moral or ethical obligations to themselves, others and to the society in general as they practice their professions. These obligations are generally in keeping with the principles of the South African Constitution and other laws of the republic.
