This activity consists of a 45-minute self-guided module and a journal article on chrononutrition.
Chrononutrition is a developing field of research that investigates the relationship between the body’s circadian rhythm, nutrition and health outcomes. It is demonstrated that the timing of eating can influence a person’s health and risk of disease.
Module outline:
- Lesson 1: What is chrononutrition
- Lesson 2: The effects of timing of food intake
- Lesson 3: Implications for dietitians and nutrition professionals
- Key points
- Quiz
The journal article is a scoping review on chronotype differences in body composition, dietary intake and eating behaviour outcomes. After reading the article, answer a set of multiple-choice questions to pass the activity and qualify for CEU. This activity is accredited for 4 CEUs.
A summary of the key points will be provided at the end of the module as well as the journal article.
The content of this activity was developed by Estelle Venter and reviewed by Carla Gerryts.
